All About LeaLeonberger Club of America Member Kennel
Lea is a wonderful loving female, very athletic and loves to play. She truly is the image of a gentle giant. She loves being with her family and loved her pal Norton (our Lab - who is now in doggie heaven). She is a real communicator, whether it's to say I want to go outside or lets play. We've never had a dog that's so expressive. Her favorite hobbies are of course playing the chase me game, retrieving her beater ball, swimming and retrieving in the ocean & lakes (just like her doggie Mom), sitting with her humans and licking their faces, lounging on the stairway, going to the dog park and entering dog show competitions. She does very well in the show ring and turns on when she is doing her thing. Her biggest handicap is the handler -- me. She now has her championships with Leonberger Club of America (LCA), Master Championship with American Rare Breed Assoc. (ARBA), International All Breed Canine Assoc. (IABCA) and United Kennel Club (UKC).
She has won many Best of Breeds, but her back-to-back Best of Breed wins at our club's regional specialty, to me, was quite an honor. We enjoy being part of our breed club, the Leonberger Club of America, and encourage all potential Leonberger owners to join. You'll meet some really nice people and enjoy getting the Leoletter. You'll have an opportunity to read about other peoples dogs & their dogs accomplishments, club information, and learning about health issues and so on... It's an excellent publication.
